Senior Software Engineer (Frontend — Web)

About the role

Porter is looking for a senior frontend engineer to own large‑scale, business‑critical web applications that serve millions of users daily. You will shape the architecture, drive performance and security, and mentor a high‑performing team while building real‑time logistics experiences using React, Next.js and TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable frontend architectures for high‑traffic, SEO‑critical applications.
• Define and enforce performance budgets, own Core Web Vitals, and strengthen frontend security (CSP, token handling).
• Develop real‑time tracking interfaces with TypeScript, React, Firebase and WebSockets.
• Lead code‑quality initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, design and backend teams.

Eligibility

• Minimum 4 years of professional frontend/web development experience.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React and Next.js.
• Hands‑on experience with modular architecture, monorepos (Nx) and design‑system development.
• Proven ability to optimise bundle size, caching/CDN strategies and form validation (Zod).
• Experience with real‑time data streams (WebSockets/Firestore) and security measures (reCAPTCHA, rate limiting).
