Senior Manager - Frontend

About the role

Ontic is seeking a Senior Manager – Frontend to steer its frontend engineering function. You will define architecture, lead multiple teams, and partner with product, design, and platform groups to deliver secure, high‑performance, and accessible user experiences for its AI‑driven security platform.

Responsibilities

• Shape and evolve the frontend technical strategy, architecture, and engineering standards across the organization.
• Lead planning, execution, and delivery for multiple frontend squads, balancing capacity, risk, and business priorities.
• Coach and grow senior engineers, set performance goals, and manage hiring, onboarding, and career development.
• Drive cross‑functional alignment with Product, Design, Platform, and Security to translate strategy into actionable plans.
• Establish and improve standards for accessibility, performance, reliability, testing, observability, and security.
• Champion developer experience through shared tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and reusable frameworks.

Eligibility

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on frontend development.
• Minimum 3 years of experience leading engineering teams or a major engineering function.
• Proven ability to design scalable, secure, and performant frontend architectures for large SaaS applications.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated track record of hiring, coaching, and retaining senior technical talent.

Skills

• Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Strong knowledge of component systems, design systems, state management, and modern build tooling.
• Experience with accessibility, performance optimization, testing strategies, and observability.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, and feature‑flagging practices.
• Ability to evaluate emerging frontend technologies and make pragmatic adoption decisions.
