About the role
NVIDIA is looking for a senior Package Layout Engineer to join its hardware team in Bangalore. The role focuses on designing high‑speed, high‑density ASIC package layouts, collaborating with technical leads and cross‑functional designers to meet cost, size, and performance targets.
Responsibilities
- Work with the layout team to create and optimize ASIC package designs.
- Develop substrate breakout patterns and pin‑out assignments based on system‑level trade‑offs.
- Perform routing, placement, stack‑up, reference plane and power distribution using Cadence APD or SiP tools.
- Generate CAD symbols and library databases and propose layout trade‑offs for approval.
- Conduct feasibility studies to ensure designs meet size, cost and performance goals.
- Drive productivity improvements through new methodologies.
Eligibility
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of three years of PCB layout experience on graphics cards, motherboards, line cards or related technologies.
- Hands‑on experience with high‑density interconnect (HDI) designs is advantageous.
Skills
- Proficiency with Cadence APD or SiP layout tools, including Constraint Manager.
- Strong understanding of high‑speed signal‑integrity principles.
- Experience with substrate layout for wire‑bond and flip‑chip packages.
- Familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso, Calibre and Valor tools is a plus.
