About the role
Morningstar is seeking a backend Software Engineer to design, build and maintain REST APIs and micro‑services that power its index and mutual‑fund data platforms. The position works on a Python‑first stack (FastAPI, Pandas, NumPy) alongside established Java Spring Boot services, all hosted on AWS.
Responsibilities
- Develop backend applications and RESTful APIs using Python (FastAPI or Flask) and Java Spring Boot.
- Write unit and integration tests with pytest and JUnit, and take part in code reviews.
- Debug, troubleshoot and resolve issues across the full stack.
- Collaborate with team leads, business analysts and QA in Agile ceremonies.
- Adopt modern development tools, CI/CD pipelines and AI‑assisted coding practices.

Eligibility
