About the role

Microsoft is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the modernization of its Advertising Campaign UI. You will shape the frontend architecture, drive performance and scalability, and embed AI‑assisted development practices across a large, customer‑facing platform.

Responsibilities

Define and evolve shared frontend frameworks, design systems, and development patterns.
Improve platform scalability, performance, reliability, and observability.
Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver innovative customer experiences.
Lead architecture reviews, technical investigations, and design discussions for critical initiatives.
Mentor engineers across multiple teams and raise overall technical standards.
Advance AI‑enabled engineering practices to boost productivity and software quality.

Eligibility

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of software engineering experience.
Or Master's degree with 12+ years of experience, or 15+ years with a bachelor's.
Proven experience designing, building, and operating large‑scale customer‑facing systems.
Strong background in modern web development, especially React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
Experience leading architecture and technical execution across multiple teams.
