About the role

As a Principal Frontend Software Engineer at Atlassian, you will lead the architectural vision and development of web front‑end platforms for flagship products such as Jira, Confluence and Trello, while enjoying full remote flexibility across India.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the architectural direction for Atlassian’s frontend systems.
• Lead modernization and evolution of UI codebases across core products.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high‑quality features.
• Mentor senior engineers and promote best practices in frontend development.
• Ensure performance, accessibility, and scalability of web applications.
• Contribute to tooling, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Eligibility

• Lead‑level position with at least 8 years of professional frontend experience.
• Demonstrated success building large‑scale web applications.
• Strong expertise in modern JavaScript, TypeScript and React ecosystems.
