About the role
Mastercard is looking for a Software Engineer I to join its Pune development team. The role covers the full software lifecycle – from coding and testing to deployment, documentation, and production support – while adhering to Mastercard’s security and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain application software.
- Produce clear documentation and support materials for the solutions you build.
- Evaluate alternative technical approaches and conduct feasibility studies.
- Participate in production incident management and on‑call pager rotation.
- Follow Mastercard’s secure coding practices, quality assurance, and control processes.
- Collaborate with geographically distributed project teams and contribute to project metrics.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field.
- 0 to 3 years of software engineering experience (freshers are welcome).
- Strong communication, organizational and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines.
Skills
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++ or Python.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and best practices.
- Experience with testing, version‑control systems and secure coding principles.
- Capability to analyse requirements, design system flowcharts and perform cost‑time analysis.
- Good documentation skills and familiarity with quality assurance processes.
