About the role

Kyndryl is looking for a Mainframe Platform Support Specialist to join its Bangalore team. The role blends hands‑on troubleshooting with strategic planning across hybrid‑cloud and on‑premise environments, ensuring that critical mainframe and infrastructure services run smoothly for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues across servers, networks, cloud platforms and enterprise systems.
  • Design, deploy and integrate end‑to‑end infrastructure solutions for hybrid‑cloud and on‑premise landscapes.
  • Automate workflows and system tasks to boost reliability, efficiency and scalability.
  • Proactively assess technical risks and implement preventive measures to maintain business continuity.
  • Collaborate with architects, project managers and technical specialists to deliver projects on time.
  • Lead infrastructure initiatives from planning through execution, communicating solutions and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated experience with z/OS systems programming and mainframe platform support.

Skills

  • Strong experience in z/OS systems programming and mainframe platform support.
  • Installation, configuration, maintenance and administration of z/OS operating systems.
  • Hands‑on expertise with SMP/E for software installation and patch management.
  • Mainframe systems management covering integrity, performance and availability.
  • Problem determination, root‑cause analysis and platform‑level issue resolution.
  • Experience with IPL planning, implementation and recovery.
