Engineering Manager - Frontend - Krak

About the role

Kraken is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a cross‑functional frontend pod that builds and scales the Krak consumer experience across web and mobile platforms. The role is fully remote and reports to product engineering leadership, guiding both frontend (React/React Native) and backend (Rust) engineers.

Responsibilities

• Direct a mixed team of frontend and backend engineers to deliver core Krak features.
• Own the end‑to‑end user experience for key consumer functionalities on mobile and desktop.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to define high‑impact features and measure their success.
• Maintain consistent engineering standards and code quality across services and client apps.
• Drive agile processes, project tracking and engineering metrics such as DORA and cycle time.
• Mentor team members, promote technical growth and foster an inclusive culture.

Eligibility

• Minimum eight years of professional software development experience.
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams that ship customer‑facing products at scale.
• Experience managing both frontend and backend groups.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work remotely across any time zone.
• Passion for building intuitive, high‑performance financial consumer products.

Skills

• Deep expertise in React Native and modern React development.
• Proficiency with TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of frontend architecture and performance optimization.
• Leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Familiarity with agile delivery and engineering metrics.
• Knowledge of Rust or similar systems languages is a plus.
