About the role

The Technical Support Engineer Associate position is a hybrid role based in India, requiring two days per week on‑site at HPE offices in Bengaluru or Chennai. You will serve as the first line of technical assistance for Aruba enterprise switching customers, handling case triage, basic configuration validation, and initial troubleshooting for Aruba AOS‑CX and AOS‑S platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and manage customer cases via phone, web, and email, assigning severity and ensuring SLA compliance.
  • Perform L1 troubleshooting on Aruba switches, covering VLANs, trunking, STP, basic routing, PoE, and hardware diagnostics.
  • Collect logs, run show commands, and follow runbooks to diagnose issues before escalating to L2/L3 teams.
  • Document symptoms, topology, and steps taken in HPE case‑management tools.
  • Participate in weekly enablement sessions, product briefings, and technical readiness programs.
  • Contribute to and use HPE Knowledge Base while adhering to support processes and quality standards.

Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related discipline.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in network operations, NOC, TAC support, or field networking.

Skills

  • Strong grasp of networking fundamentals – TCP/IP, OSI model, VLANs, STP, and basic routing concepts.
  • Hands‑on experience with Aruba AOS‑CX and AOS‑S CLI commands.
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows troubleshooting and CLI access via SSH/Telnet.
  • Familiarity with case‑management tools such as HPE ServiceNow and internal TAC platforms.
  • Excellent customer communication, analytical thinking, and documentation discipline.
