About the role
Fractal Analytics is looking for an L3 Data Engineer who will provide expert‑level support for its data platforms. Based in Bengaluru with a hybrid work model, you will handle complex production incidents, drive automation, and mentor junior support teams while ensuring the stability and scalability of GCP‑based pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Resolve escalated L2 incidents within SLA and perform detailed root‑cause analysis.
- Participate in 8×5 on‑call rotations to address critical production issues.
- Manage change requests, platform enhancements, and prioritize work based on business impact.
- Identify and automate repetitive operational tasks to improve efficiency.
- Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge‑base articles, and mentor L1/L2 engineers.
Skills
- Strong hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Dataproc, Cloud Run, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage and IAM.
- Proficiency in Apache Spark, Hive, and distributed data processing concepts.
- Experience designing and troubleshooting Apache Airflow DAGs.
- Programming expertise in Python, Scala and Bash scripting.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging and alerting tools for data platforms.
