Software Engineer

About the role

Ford Motor Company is hiring Software Engineers for its Enterprise Technology division across India. The role blends software development with robotic process automation (RPA) to streamline business workflows, support financial close activities, and keep enterprise systems stable. Candidates will work on building bots, troubleshooting incidents, and documenting solutions while gaining exposure to a global automotive technology environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automation solutions that digitise existing business processes.
• Resolve incident and problem tickets related to enterprise applications.
• Support financial period‑close tasks and assist in month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end activities.
• Participate in technology refresh initiatives and system migration projects.
• Analyse manual workflows, identify automation opportunities and create simple bots using RPA platforms.
• Write and execute test cases for bots, debug issues and ensure reliable deployment.
• Prepare solution design documents, user manuals and other technical documentation.
• Monitor deployed automation in production and provide first‑line support for any failures.
• Collaborate with audit teams to supply required evidence and support audit queries.
• Contribute to project planning, status reporting and cross‑functional coordination.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree (B.E/B.Tech) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics or a related technical discipline.
• 0–3 years of experience; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Fundamental programming knowledge in at least one language such as C#, Java, or Python.
• Exposure to RPA tools (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Microsoft Power Automate) through projects, internships or certifications.

Skills

• Proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem or equivalent Java/Python skills.
• Understanding of object‑oriented programming concepts.
• Hands‑on experience or academic exposure to RPA platforms (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate).
• Basic SQL knowledge for interacting with enterprise databases.
• Ability to analyse business processes, map workflows and propose automation solutions.
• Testing, debugging and troubleshooting of automation scripts.
• Clear technical documentation and communication skills.
