MTS 2 Software Engineer - Full Stack

About the role

eBay is looking for a senior full‑stack engineer to design and deliver high‑scale advertising and marketing platforms. The role spans frontend, backend, APIs and AI‑assisted workflows, requiring ownership from concept through production while collaborating with product, design and data teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement advertising and marketing features using React, Marko, Node.js, Java and Scala.
• Build scalable, highly available services and APIs, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex features, from design documents to production support.
• Drive technical decisions, system design and cross‑team alignment for maintainable solutions.
• Utilize AI‑assisted coding tools to accelerate development, testing and code reviews.
• Partner with ML engineers to embed LLM‑powered recommendations and campaign optimization.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven track record building large‑scale web applications with React or similar frameworks.
• Strong background in relational (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB) databases.
• Experience designing distributed systems and making architectural trade‑offs.
• Familiarity with GraphQL and federated APIs is highly desirable.
