Lead Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to drive full‑stack development for Cvent’s R&D vertical. The position is hybrid, with two days a week on‑site in Bangalore or Gurgaon, and focuses 70 % on modern frontend using React and TypeScript and 30 % on backend services built with Node.js or Java.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable SaaS features using React, TypeScript, Next.js and Tailwind.
• Implement backend APIs and services with Node.js, Java and GraphQL.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, overseeing code quality and system design.
• Integrate AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT into the workflow.
• Collaborate with product and R&D teams to translate requirements into robust solutions.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and ensure high reliability of applications.

Eligibility

• 8–11 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong expertise in React, TypeScript and modern JavaScript.
• Proficiency with Node.js or Java for backend development.
• Hands‑on experience with GraphQL, Next.js and Tailwind CSS.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
