Staff Software Engineer - Frontend (NYC)

About the role

Databricks is seeking a senior frontend engineer for its New York City office to design and build cutting‑edge GenAI user interfaces. You will work in a 0‑to‑1 product team, shaping new AI‑driven experiences from concept to launch while collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering peers.

Responsibilities

• Invent and implement novel UI components for GenAI agents that keep users in control.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver intuitive, extensible products.
• Lead hands‑on front‑end and full‑stack development, including direct customer interactions.
• Drive product‑led growth through seamless onboarding and sharing features.
• Shape the future of agentic applications by aligning technical strategy with business goals.

Eligibility

• Minimum 10 years of experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (or equivalent).
• Proven product mindset: turn ambiguous problems into MVPs and iterate based on data.
• Strong ownership and bias for action in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments.
• Excellent collaboration skills across product, engineering, and design.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue.
• Familiarity with server‑side technologies (Node.js), SQL and Spark.
