Automation Engineer

About the role

Caterpillar Inc is looking for fresh engineering graduates to join as Automation Engineers in Chennai. You will work on developing, testing, and maintaining automation solutions that support our industrial products, applying programming, AI basics, and software‑testing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test and debug automation software using at least one programming language.
• Execute functional, performance, and load testing and document results.
• Apply SDLC best practices to plan, develop, and release automation features.
• Utilize AI concepts where applicable to enhance automation capabilities.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, providing clear documentation and reports.

Eligibility

• Graduated with a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science.
• Strong grasp of industry trends, regulatory standards, and product knowledge.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
