About the role

Capco is seeking a Big Data Engineer proficient in Scala and Apache Spark to build and optimise large‑scale data pipelines for banking and financial clients. The position is based in Pune, India and involves working with Hadoop, Hive, Kafka and cloud‑native tools.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain scalable big‑data applications and ETL/ELT pipelines.
Implement high‑performance data‑processing solutions using Scala and Spark.
Optimise Spark jobs, tune performance and resolve production issues.
Integrate with Hadoop ecosystem components such as HDFS, Hive and Kafka.
Apply data‑quality checks, monitoring and error‑handling mechanisms.
Collaborate with data architects, analysts and engineering teams while following Git‑based CI/CD practices.
