About the role

Brivo is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to design, automate and execute API tests for its cloud‑first security platform. The role blends coding with quality assurance, offering fresh graduates the chance to work with modern test frameworks and contribute to a product that secures physical spaces.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated API tests using Playwright and Robot Framework.
• Analyze requirements and user stories to create comprehensive test cases covering functional and non‑functional aspects.
• Perform manual exploratory testing on new features and convert repeatable checks into automated scripts.
• Investigate failing tests in CI/CD pipelines, differentiate real defects from flaky issues, and raise tickets as needed.
• Document defects with clear reproduction steps, logs and screenshots, and follow them through to resolution.
• Use Git for version control, manage branches, submit pull requests and incorporate code review feedback.
• Assist in setting up test data, configuring environments and building small utilities to streamline testing.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to identify and mitigate quality risks.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 0‑2 years of experience in software testing, test automation or software development.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.

Skills

• Python programming.
• API testing concepts, JSON handling and tools like Postman.
• Automation frameworks such as Playwright, Robot Framework or PyTest.
• Version control with Git.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
