Senior Software Engineer (Frontend–React)

About the role

Bluehost is looking for a senior front‑end engineer to craft high‑performance, responsive React applications that power the experience of millions of small‑business customers. Based in Mumbai, you will work in a hybrid setting, turning UI/UX designs into clean code while collaborating across product, design, and backend teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, responsive web applications using React, TypeScript and modern JavaScript.
• Translate UI/UX mockups into pixel‑perfect, interactive front‑end components.
• Partner with product managers, designers and backend engineers to deliver end‑to‑end features.
• Optimize performance, accessibility and cross‑browser compatibility.
• Write reusable, maintainable code and enforce best practices through code reviews and testing.
• Contribute ideas to improve user experience, engineering processes and product quality.

Eligibility

• 5‑8 years of professional front‑end development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and able to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Skills

• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Deep experience with React (hooks, context, lifecycle, routing, state management).
• Familiarity with Redux or Zustand for state handling.
• Responsive, mobile‑first development and web performance optimisation.
• Experience with REST APIs, Git version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Testing expertise using Jest, React Testing Library and Cypress.
• Use of AI‑assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
• Knowledge of build tools like Webpack, Vite and package managers npm/Yarn.
