Application Engineer

About the role

3M is looking for a fresh graduate to join its Commercial Solutions team in Bangalore as an Application Engineer. You will act as a technical bridge between customers, channel partners and the sales team, recommending the right self‑adhesive film and polymer products to meet brand requirements while gaining hands‑on experience in material science and product commercialization.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep knowledge of 3M’s product portfolio and use it to meet division goals.
• Engage with brand owners, channel partners and end‑customers to understand needs and generate product specifications.
• Lead technical discussions, track market trends and collaborate on new product ideas.
• Travel across India to customer sites and provide on‑site support.
• Maintain a collaborative attitude, learning mindset and teamwork with internal and external stakeholders.

Eligibility

• Graduate or postgraduate, preferably in Polymer Science, Chemistry or Materials Science.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Familiarity with self‑adhesive films, polymer chemistry and product development processes.
• Basic lab‑testing skills and willingness to learn commercialization steps.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Commitment to 3M’s safety and EHS culture.
