About ShareChat
ShareChat is an Indian social-media company operated by Mohalla Tech Private Limited and headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The company was founded in 2015 by Ankush Sachdeva, Bhanu Pratap Singh, and Farid Ahsan, who built one of the earliest large-scale Indian social platforms designed specifically for users who consume content in regional Indian languages rather than English. ShareChat operates two principal consumer products. The flagship ShareChat application is a feed-based social network that supports content creation and sharing across more than a dozen Indian languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, and others. The Moj application, launched in 2020, is a short-form vertical-video product that competes with global short-video platforms in the Indian market. Together, the apps reach hundreds of millions of monthly active users across India. The company operates a creator-economy ecosystem around its products, with monetisation through advertising, brand partnerships, in-app virtual gifts on live-streaming surfaces, and other commerce experiments. ShareChat has raised substantial venture-capital funding from investors including Tiger Global, Lightspeed, Google, Twitter, and Tencent, among others, and has been one of the more highly valued private internet companies in India. Indian fresher and early-career hiring at ShareChat typically targets software-engineer, mobile-engineer, machine-learning-engineer, data-engineer, data-scientist, product-manager, design, content-and-trust-and-safety, and operations roles, with positions sourced through ShareChat's careers portal and engineering-community channels.
