About Micron Technology
Micron Technology is a US-based semiconductor company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. It designs and manufactures DRAM, NAND flash, NOR flash, and 3D XPoint memory and storage products under the Micron and Crucial brands. Micron is one of the largest memory manufacturers in the world and is publicly listed on Nasdaq under the ticker MU. The company was founded in 1978 in Boise and has grown through internal investment and large-scale acquisitions, including Lexar, Numonyx, Elpida Memory, and Inotera Memories, expanding its DRAM and NAND footprint and bringing additional fabs and design capability under the Micron umbrella. Micron has a substantial India presence, with engineering centres in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. In 2023 the company announced plans to set up an outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) facility in Sanand, Gujarat, marking one of the first large-scale memory-packaging investments in India under the country's semiconductor mission. Indian fresher hiring at Micron typically targets associate-design-engineer, software-engineer, firmware-engineer, validation-engineer, product-engineer, and DFT-engineer roles, with campus pipelines from the IITs, NITs, BITS, IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Bangalore, and other engineering institutions. Internship-to-full-time conversion is a common entry path. The Sanand facility is also expected to expand operations and engineering hiring in Gujarat over the coming years.
