About Housing.com
Housing.com is an Indian online real-estate marketplace that lets home buyers, renters, owners, brokers, and developers list, search, and transact in residential and commercial properties across India. The company’s platform spans property listings, new-project pages, virtual tours, home loans, advisory and locality-research content, and tenant- and landlord-facing rental services. The platform was founded in 2012 by twelve students from IIT Bombay, including Rahul Yadav, Advitiya Sharma, and others, originally as a startup based out of Mumbai. After several rounds of funding from investors including SoftBank, Housing.com’s parent entity Locon Solutions was later restructured. In 2017 the broader Indian real-estate group around Housing.com, PropTiger, and Makaan came under the holding company Elara Technologies. In December 2020 Australian digital real-estate group REA Group acquired a controlling stake in Elara Technologies, and the Indian operations have since been rebranded as REA India. REA India is headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana, with offices across Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, and other major Indian cities. Housing.com is the consumer-facing marketplace brand within the group, alongside PropTiger.com and Makaan.com (the company has more recently divested PropTiger as part of a portfolio refocus). REA India and Housing.com employ approximately 1,500–3,000 people across product, engineering, sales, customer experience, marketing, and operations. The company has been recognised in Great Place to Work surveys for India and the broader Asia region. Indian fresher and early-career hiring at Housing.com typically targets software-engineering, data, product, design, sales, and customer-experience roles, with applications routed through housing.com/careers and the REA India LinkedIn page.
