About Housing.com
Housing.com is an Indian online real-estate marketplace that lets home buyers, renters, owners, brokers, and developers list, search, and transact in residential and commercial properties across India. The company’s platform spans property listings, new-project pages, virtual tours, home loans, advisory and locality-research content, and tenant- and landlord-facing rental services.
The platform was founded in 2012 by twelve students from IIT Bombay, including Rahul Yadav, Advitiya Sharma, and others, originally as a startup based out of Mumbai. After several rounds of funding from investors including SoftBank, Housing.com’s parent entity Locon Solutions was later restructured. In 2017 the broader Indian real-estate group around Housing.com, PropTiger, and Makaan came under the holding company Elara Technologies. In December 2020 Australian digital real-estate group REA Group acquired a controlling stake in Elara Technologies, and the Indian operations have since been rebranded as REA India.
