About the role

WSP is seeking an AI Engineer to design and deliver generative AI solutions. The position is based in Bangalore and follows a hybrid work model. Candidates will work on building agents, retrieval‑augmented pipelines, and responsible AI controls while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop GenAI applications, agents and automation workflows adhering to engineering standards.
  • Implement retrieval‑augmented generation, function calling, structured outputs and prompt patterns.
  • Integrate AI components with enterprise APIs, vector search services and governed data sources.
  • Build and maintain ingestion, chunking, embedding, indexing and retrieval pipelines for diverse content.
  • Create evaluation datasets and conduct testing for accuracy, safety, latency and overall solution quality.
  • Apply responsible AI safeguards such as validation, guardrails, content filtering and human oversight.
  • Write clean, reusable Python code, participate in code reviews and support CI/CD deployment.
  • Monitor deployed solutions, resolve incidents and continuously optimise performance.

Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related discipline.
  • 0–3 years of software, data or AI engineering experience, including internships or strong project work.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation and stakeholder communication abilities.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Python, REST APIs and SQL.
  • Hands‑on experience with large language models, embeddings, RAG and prompt engineering.
  • Familiarity with Azure AI services, Git‑based development and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of cloud security principles and responsible AI practices.
