Senior Software Engineer - Frontend Shell

About the role

Workiva is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the architecture and development of its frontend shell and the micro‑frontend integration layer. In this remote position you will leverage TypeScript and React to create a scalable, high‑performance UI platform that underpins the company’s cloud‑based compliance and reporting solutions, collaborating closely with product, backend and UX teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement the core frontend shell that hosts multiple micro‑frontends.
• Design integration patterns and APIs for seamless communication between micro‑frontends.
• Write clean, maintainable TypeScript and React code following industry best practices.
• Optimize UI performance, ensure cross‑browser compatibility and meet accessibility standards.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for frontend deployments.
• Collaborate with product, backend, and UX teams to deliver features on schedule.

Eligibility

• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, JavaScript and HTML5.
• Experience building large‑scale web applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
