Staff Software Engineer - Front end

About the role

Walmart Global Tech is seeking a Staff Software Engineer – Front end to lead the architecture, design and delivery of next‑generation retail platforms. Based in Bangalore, you will shape highly scalable, secure front‑end solutions that serve millions of customers across dozens of countries.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and deploy cutting‑edge front‑end solutions that scale to millions of users.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to drive multiple initiatives and run POCs on emerging technologies.
• Mentor, hire and upskill a high‑performing engineering team, conducting design and code reviews.
• Lead product delivery, working closely with junior developers and cross‑geography engineering teams.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and apply industry research to continuously improve the platform.
• Champion agile practices, CI/CD, monitoring and production support excellence.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field with 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• Deep knowledge of responsive design, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React, Redux, Webpack and Node.js.
• Hands‑on experience with GraphQL, React Native, AJAX and modern testing frameworks (Jasmine, Mocha, Enzyme, Nightwatch.js).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and production monitoring tools.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to conduct root‑cause analysis and drive architectural decisions.
• Additional experience in Android frameworks, Java, JVM internals, and data‑store technologies (MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Kafka) is a plus.
