Associate Software Engineer

About the role

TriNet is looking for an early‑career Associate Software Engineer to join its Hyderabad office. The role involves building and enhancing web‑based applications, writing production‑grade code, creating automated tests, and experimenting with modern AI techniques such as Retrieval‑Augmented Generation and generative AI agents.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new product features and enhancements.
• Maintain and improve existing applications and platforms.
• Investigate, debug, and resolve issues in production systems.
• Contribute across the software development lifecycle with emphasis on coding, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Write clean, production‑ready code following established standards.
• Develop unit tests and automated test scripts following a test‑driven approach.
• Leverage AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot and Claude Code for code generation and review.
• Build rapid prototypes and proof‑of‑concepts for new ideas.
• Own assigned tasks independently and ensure timely delivery.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams during development, testing, and release cycles.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Typically less than two years of experience developing products or platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with UI or backend web technologies.
• Strong grasp of object‑oriented programming in Java, Python or a comparable language.
• Understanding of software engineering principles and testing methodologies.
• Good problem‑solving and debugging abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.

Skills

• Proficiency in Java or Python.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as ReactJS or AngularJS.
• Knowledge of Retrieval‑Augmented Generation, generative AI and AI agent development.
• Solid foundation in software development best practices, data structures and algorithms.
• Familiarity with unit testing, test‑driven development and automated test creation.
• Understanding of UI and backend architecture patterns.
• Exposure to AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) is a plus.
