About the role

Swiggy is seeking a Data Scientist I to create and deploy machine‑learning solutions that enhance ad recommendation quality and campaign performance. You will work with massive historical data, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and stay current with cutting‑edge research in AI and generative models.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop ML/DL models for ad recommendation and campaign optimization.
  • Extract and analyze large historical datasets to uncover insights for business and customer‑experience challenges.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers and analysts to define requirements, design solutions, and implement end‑to‑end inference pipelines at Swiggy scale.

  • Own projects from conception through deployment, ensuring high‑quality, production‑ready models.

Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
  • 1‑3 years of professional or research experience applying machine learning or deep learning to real‑world problems.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability and first‑principles thinking.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Python, SQL and Spark for data processing.
  • Experience with TensorFlow for building deep learning models.
  • Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, statistical modeling, NLP and generative AI techniques.
  • Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and agentic AI concepts.
