Software Development Engineer Intern

About the role

Spyne, an AI‑first automotive retail startup, is looking for a motivated Software Development Engineer Intern to join its technology team in Gurgaon. Over a six‑month, office‑based internship you will contribute to both frontend and backend features, work with AI‑driven products, and gain hands‑on experience building scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new UI components and server‑side logic using React.js and Node.js.
• Develop, test, and integrate RESTful APIs and related backend services.
• Interact with databases to support data‑centric features.
• Translate product and UI specifications into clean, maintainable code.
• Debug issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and optimise performance.
• Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices.
• Collaborate closely with frontend, backend, product and AI teams.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliver end‑to‑end under mentorship.

Eligibility

• Pursuing or recently completed B.Tech, B.E., BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong academic background, preferably from IITs, NITs, BITS, NSUT, DTU or similar institutes.
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms and core programming concepts.

Skills

• Proficiency in JavaScript.
• Familiarity with React.js and/or Node.js.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs and relational/NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Git/GitHub version control.
• Knowledge of HTML and CSS (plus).
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS (plus).
