Software Development and Testing Intern

About the role

Siemens Gamesa is looking for a motivated intern to support software development and testing activities within its Loads and Controls Engineering team in Bangalore. The role involves programming, tool validation, documentation, and close collaboration with engineers to enhance wind turbine control software.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement MATLAB and Python functions for automated reporting and controller validation.
• Test and validate new and existing software tools to ensure reliability.
• Assist engineers in debugging and improving tool performance based on feedback.
• Develop and refine CI/CD pipelines using Git, GitLab, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and development notes.
• Generate data analysis reports and technical presentations for engineering reviews.

Eligibility

• Currently pursuing a B.Tech (3rd/4th year) or M.Tech (1st year) in Control & Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• No prior professional experience required; academic or personal projects in relevant programming languages are valued.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and collaborative skills.

Skills

• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and LaTeX.
• Understanding of Object‑Oriented Programming and software testing concepts.
• Experience with version control systems (Git, Mercurial) and agile tools such as Jira.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory).
