Software Quality Engineering Intern

About the role

Red Hat is seeking motivated early-career candidates for the role of Software Quality Engineering Intern at its technology center in Pune, Maharashtra.

Responsibilities

• Conduct new feature research and design manual and automated test cases.
• Execute test suites and deliver clear testing status updates to engineering leads in a timely manner.
• Explore, identify, document, and track software bugs while communicating their customer impact to developers and support teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality Engineering (QE), Product Management, and Documentation teams, as well as the open-source community.
• Develop test scripts using Python, Golang, or shell scripting in Linux environments.

Eligibility

• Currently pursuing the final year of a Bachelor’s degree (B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent quantitative discipline.
• Must have valid authorization to work in India without requiring visa sponsorship.

Skills

• Testing Fundamentals: Basic knowledge of and passion for software testing methodologies, test design, and quality assurance principles.
• Programming Knowledge: Basic familiarity and willingness to use Python, Golang, or similar programming languages.
• Communication: Working knowledge of written and spoken English.
• Soft Skills: Strong curiosity, problem-solving mindset, desire to understand internal system mechanics, and ability to work proactively in global, cross-functional teams.
