Software Engineer

About the role

Qualys is hiring a Software Engineer for its Pune office to work on the Windows‑based components of the Qualys Sensor Platform. The role involves designing, coding, testing and optimizing security software that runs close to the operating system. Candidates should have 1‑3 years of professional experience, a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, and solid hands‑on expertise in C++ development on Windows.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and debug C++ modules for the Windows security sensor.
• Maintain and enhance existing codebases, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Write unit tests and conduct performance profiling to guarantee code quality.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to deliver new features and resolve defects.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and follow best‑practice development processes.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline (B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc).
• 1‑3 years of professional software development experience.
• At least one year of C++ development in a Windows environment.
• Familiarity with Windows internals such as processes, threads, services, registry and Win32 APIs.

Skills
