About the role

Qualcomm is hiring fresh engineering graduates for a full‑time software engineering position across its Indian development centres. The role focuses on building real‑time embedded software, device drivers and application stacks for Qualcomm’s mobile chipsets, covering areas such as multimedia, wireless modems and platform‑level operating systems.

Responsibilities

Design and implement embedded software and device drivers for Android, Linux or Windows based platforms.
Develop multimedia processing components including audio, video and imaging codecs.
Work on wireless protocol stacks (e.g., LTE, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth) and related connectivity features.
Contribute to kernel, board support package and low‑level firmware development.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate software with hardware and validate performance.

Eligibility

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline (Masters also acceptable).
Strong grasp of operating‑system concepts, data structures and algorithms.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Skills

Proficiency in C and C++ with object‑oriented design principles.
Experience with Linux/UNIX environments, kernel development and device drivers.
Familiarity with Android or Windows embedded platforms.
Understanding of wireless standards (e.g., CDMA, GSM, UMTS, LTE) and networking protocols such as TCP/UDP/IP.
Knowledge of multimedia technologies including audio, video and image processing.
