About Qualcomm

Qualcomm Incorporated is an American semiconductor and wireless-technology company headquartered in San Diego, California. Founded in 1985 by Irwin Jacobs, Andrew Viterbi, and five other engineers, it is best known for its Snapdragon system-on-chip platforms used in smartphones, automotive systems, and IoT devices, and for its long-running leadership in CDMA, LTE, and 5G modem and RF technology. The company is publicly traded on the Nasdaq and is a member of the S&P 500. It earns substantial revenue from both chip sales (QCT) and patent licensing (QTL), and has been a major contributor to global cellular standards. In India, Qualcomm operates large engineering centres in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Noida. Indian fresher hiring is concentrated in modem, RF, software, machine-learning, and SoC roles, with structured campus and intern pipelines from the IITs, IIITs, NITs, and other engineering institutions. In addition to its core engineering hiring, Qualcomm India runs the Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship for selected PhD students at Indian research institutions, and supports the broader Indian semiconductor ecosystem through patent licensing and partnerships with Indian foundries and design houses.
