About the role

Plane is looking for a DevOps‑focused Software Engineer to own the infrastructure that powers Plane Cloud and self‑hosted deployments. You will manage AWS and Kubernetes environments, build CI/CD pipelines, and ensure reliability, security, and cost‑efficiency for customers across regulated industries.

Responsibilities

  • Design, provision, and maintain Terraform‑defined infrastructure on AWS and Kubernetes, using GitOps with Argo CD and Rancher Fleet.
  • Develop and operate CI/CD pipelines that deliver a single codebase to cloud and on‑premise environments.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and tracing with Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana and the LGTM stack, and respond to alerts.
  • Handle security tasks such as access controls, vulnerability management, and secret handling using tools like Wiz.
  • Collaborate daily with backend and frontend engineers in multiple locations and with customer platform teams to resolve production issues.
  • Investigate and debug cross‑layer incidents, creating documentation or defaults to prevent recurrence.

Eligibility

  • Experience running production infrastructure on AWS or GCP, defined as code (Terraform or equivalent).
  • Hands‑on operation of Kubernetes clusters and containerisation with Docker/Docker‑Compose.
  • Proven ability to design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
