Associate Engineer – AI Services

About the role

NTT DATA is hiring fresh engineering graduates for the Associate Engineer – AI Services position in Chennai. The role blends software development with cloud‑based micro‑services, REST APIs and AI/ML workloads. Candidates will contribute to building, testing and deploying intelligent applications while learning from experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance software modules and APIs.
• Write, test and debug code, supporting automated testing pipelines.
• Participate in deployment activities and CI/CD processes.
• Collaborate with product teams to deliver functional components.
• Assist in integrating AI/ML algorithms and processing telemetry data.
• Support the construction and debugging of large‑scale distributed systems.
• Prepare and maintain technical and end‑user documentation.
• Refactor existing codebases following best engineering practices.
• Engage in peer code reviews to ensure quality standards.
• Contribute to cloud‑native solutions using containers and orchestration tools.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline (B.E, B.Tech, B.Sc, BCA accepted).
• Entry‑level candidates with a solid foundation in programming and data structures.
• Ability to work in an Agile, collaborative environment.

Skills

• Proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, C/C++ or JavaScript/Node.js.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms and software design principles.
• Familiarity with micro‑services architecture and RESTful API development.
• Basic knowledge of AI/ML concepts and handling of structured/unstructured data.
• Experience with SQL databases and awareness of NoSQL stores.
• Introductory exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Awareness of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
