Software Engineer 5 - TV Product UI

About the role

Netflix is looking for a senior software engineer to lead the development of cutting‑edge user‑interface features for its flagship TV application. Working remotely, you will collaborate with product, design, and algorithm teams to deliver high‑performance, memory‑efficient experiences that reach millions of viewers worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced UI components for TV devices using React, TypeScript, and Redux.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to scope projects and validate concepts through A/B testing.
• Write testable code and build automation using Jest‑based frameworks to ensure feature quality.
• Maintain ownership of feature performance and reliability across a diverse range of TV hardware.
• Influence technical direction and make trade‑off decisions that balance user experience with system constraints.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive cross‑functional collaboration.

Eligibility

• Minimum six years of experience building consumer‑facing applications.
• Proven track record of leading large, cross‑functional projects.
• Strong partnership experience with product and design teams.
• Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and UI architecture, with exposure to Node.js and GraphQL.
• Demonstrated ability to create solutions where none previously existed.
• Curiosity about user behavior and a bias toward action and collaboration.
