Associate Specialist, Legal Services - Privacy and Data Protection

About the role

The Associate Specialist in Legal Services will join Mastercard's Global Business Services Center in Pune, focusing on privacy and data protection. You will interpret global privacy regulations, manage incident logs, assess cookie compliance, and support cross‑functional teams to ensure data‑privacy standards are met across Mastercard's digital products.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply global privacy laws such as GDPR and CCPA to business processes.
• Log, categorize, and track data‑protection and security incidents.
• Coordinate with IT, Legal, and Security teams to gather incident details and monitor remediation.
• Generate compliance reports and maintain audit trails.
• Review website cookies for regulatory compliance and maintain an inventory of cookie types.
• Collaborate with marketing and web teams to keep cookie‑consent mechanisms up‑to‑date.
• Support periodic audits and recommend improvements to consent management.
• Assist business partners in adopting privacy‑by‑design practices.
• Deliver high‑quality customer service adhering to GBSC service level objectives.
• Create and track performance metrics for leadership reporting.

Eligibility

• Law graduate (LLB or equivalent).
• IAPP/Privacy certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with incident‑management systems and data‑protection practices.
• Experience with cookie‑consent tools such as OneTrust.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR, CCPA and related privacy regulations.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams in compliance or IT environments.
• Basic understanding of web technologies and cookie functionality.
• Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
