Senior Frontend Platform Engineer, Design Systems

About the role

LangChain is looking for a senior engineer to lead the creation and evolution of its design‑system component library. Working remotely from the U.S., you will collaborate with designers and product teams to deliver accessible, high‑quality UI components that power LangChain’s AI agent platform.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a reusable React component library for the entire product suite.
• Translate design tokens, patterns, and interaction guidelines into production‑ready code.
• Build and improve UI quality systems, including testing and visual regression tools.
• Create tooling and workflows for theming, versioning, and component discovery (e.g., Storybook).
• Make architectural decisions that enhance accessibility, performance, and maintainability.
• Optimize build performance, bundling strategies, and package versioning for the library.
• Maintain testing infrastructure and manage UI dependencies.

Eligibility

• Proven experience building modular, composable component libraries or design systems.
• Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, with familiarity of styling approaches such as CSS Modules, CSS‑in‑JS, Tailwind, or Sass.
• Hands‑on experience with design‑system tooling like Storybook, Chromatic, and token pipelines.
• Strong collaboration skills with designers and cross‑functional partners.
• High attention to detail, a passion for accessibility, and inclusive design.
• Experience testing UI components and performing visual regression testing.
