Senior Software Engineer - Frontend - Consumer

About the role

Kraken is looking for a world‑class Senior Frontend Engineer to design, develop and maintain high‑trust consumer trading experiences across web (React, Next.js) and mobile (React Native). You will own features from concept through production monitoring, drive experimentation, and mentor engineers while working fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship consumer‑facing features on React web and React Native mobile.
• Own the full product lifecycle: discovery, technical design, release, monitoring, A/B testing and iteration.
• Make opinionated framework and architecture decisions, influencing router and component strategies.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Data and Platform teams to create cohesive experiences.
• Mentor engineers, set high standards for code quality, accessibility, performance and testability.
• Stay ahead of React ecosystem advances and bring AI‑assisted development workflows to the team.

Eligibility

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript and the React ecosystem.
• Production experience with React Native and mobile release pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience with Next.js (App Router, React Server Components).
• Experience with A/B testing, feature flags and real‑time UI (WebSockets/SSE).
• Strong testing culture using Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright or Cypress.
