Manual Test Engineer

About the role

KogniVera is seeking a detail‑oriented Manual Test Engineer to join its Quality Assurance team. You will test web, mobile and desktop applications, create and execute test artefacts, log defects and collaborate with developers and business analysts to ensure high‑quality software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Interpret business requirements, functional specs and user stories to design test scenarios.
• Develop and run test cases, test plans and test scripts covering functional, regression, integration, smoke and sanity testing.
• Log, track and retest defects using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps or Bugzilla.
• Produce test reports and communicate testing status to stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts and product owners to clarify requirements and verify fixes.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduates with relevant training or project experience in software testing are welcome.
• 0–3 years of hands‑on manual testing experience.

Skills

• Strong grasp of SDLC and STLC processes.
• Proficiency with defect tracking tools like Jira, Azure DevOps or Bugzilla.
• Basic SQL knowledge for database validation.
• Understanding of test case design techniques and various testing types.
• Good analytical, communication and teamwork abilities.
