About the role
HP is looking for a Software System Engineer to join its high‑impact engineering team that builds and operates a modern cloud platform used by hundreds of services worldwide. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining GitHub Enterprise environments while improving performance, scalability, and developer productivity.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test and manage GitHub Enterprise Cloud/Server instances.
- Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks and implement fixes.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, debug issues and document solutions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams and design specs.
- Lead project teams of engineers and external partners to deliver reliable, cost‑effective solutions.
- Collaborate with management and stakeholders on status, progress and issue resolution.
- Mentor junior engineers and support SOX compliance activities.

Eligibility
- Four‑year or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Typically 4‑7 years of experience in systems engineering, software development or a related field.

Skills
- Strong knowledge of GitHub Enterprise (cloud or server) and GitHub Actions.

- Proficiency in Terraform or similar IaC tools.
- Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and microservices architecture.
- Programming expertise in Go and Python.
- Solid understanding of APIs, automation, debugging and scalability.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and SOX/SOC compliance frameworks.
