Associate Project Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Energy is hiring Associate Project Engineers in Chennai for fresh graduates and early‑career candidates with a B.E/B.Tech degree. The role focuses on software development engineering, covering the full software lifecycle from requirements gathering to coding, testing, deployment and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and gather software requirements to define functional specifications.
• Develop and debug software using programming, scripting or database languages.
• Support testing activities, troubleshoot defects and ensure quality releases.
• Participate in deployment, maintenance and continuous enhancement of applications.
• Apply software‑engineering best practices such as coding standards, code reviews and source‑control management.
• Assist in build processes and operational support throughout the lifecycle.

Eligibility

• Graduated with B.E or B.Tech in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Open to freshers as well as candidates with limited professional experience.
• Strong foundation in programming concepts, data structures and algorithms.

Skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, C++, Python).
• Understanding of scripting and database fundamentals (SQL).
• Familiarity with version‑control tools such as Git.
• Basic knowledge of software testing, debugging and SDLC processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively and follow coding standards.
