Application Engineering Intern

About the role

Google is offering a Summer 2027 Application Engineering Internship in Bangalore for students graduating in 2028. Interns will design, develop, and support internal business applications, automate processes, integrate third‑party software, and troubleshoot issues while gaining exposure to Google’s engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Build custom front‑end interfaces and backend services to automate internal business workflows.
• Apply software engineering best practices including design, coding, testing, and issue resolution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems faced by internal partners.
• Analyze operational workflows and propose technical improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop, deploy, and maintain internal tools.
• Integrate and support vendor‑sourced enterprise applications.

Eligibility

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Expected graduation in 2028.
• Proficiency in at least one general‑purpose programming language.
• Fluent English communication for technical discussions.
• Full‑time availability for a 10‑12 week internship during Summer 2027 (May/June).
• Ability to work outside university term time.

Skills

• Java, Python or C++ (preferred).
• SQL and relational database concepts.
• Spring framework experience.
• API development and familiarity with RESTful or SOAP web services.
• JavaScript or TypeScript for front‑end development.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and systems software.
