Application Engineering Intern (Winter 2027)

About the role

Google is offering a 26‑week, full‑time internship in Bengaluru for students graduating in 2027. Interns will develop, deploy, and support internal business applications, integrating third‑party software and automating processes while collaborating with internal partners.

Responsibilities

• Design and build custom front‑end interfaces (web or mobile) and back‑end services that automate Google’s internal business workflows.
• Write clean, modular code following Google’s engineering standards and maintain comprehensive test documentation.
• Collaborate with analysts and internal teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Configure, customize, and integrate third‑party enterprise software with Google’s internal systems.
• Support, troubleshoot, and enhance existing applications to improve reliability and performance.
• Document design decisions, testing results, and issue resolutions for future reference.

Eligibility

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Anticipated graduation year: 2027.
• Must be able to work full‑time for 26 weeks starting January 2027 or later.
• Residency in India for the entire internship period.
• Fluent English communication for technical discussions.
• Provide an updated resume/CV and an unofficial or official transcript in English.

Skills

• Proficiency in at least one general‑purpose language (Java, Python, or C++ preferred).
• Understanding of algorithms, data structures, and systems‑level programming.
• Experience with SQL and relational database concepts.
• Familiarity with Spring framework for Java‑based development.
• Ability to design and consume RESTful or SOAP APIs.
• Basic front‑end knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript.
