About the role
Corning is looking for a fresh graduate to join its advanced analytics team as a Data Engineer. You will build and maintain large‑scale data ingestion pipelines, collaborate with source owners, and ensure data quality for downstream analytics and AI workloads. The position offers hands‑on experience with cloud services, big‑data tools, and DevOps practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and deploy production‑grade big‑data ingestion pipelines using CI/CD and agile methods.
- Partner with data source teams to capture requirements for structured, semi‑structured and unstructured data and validate landed data.
- Implement automated data validation, profiling, cleansing and enrichment routines.
- Contribute to code reviews and share technical knowledge across the engineering community.
- Monitor pipeline health, token usage and system performance in a DevOps environment.
- Stay current with emerging data engineering technologies and best practices.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical discipline.
- Open to freshers; no prior professional experience required.
Skills
- Proficiency in Java, Scala or Kotlin and Python.
- Experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, RedShift, EMR, Lambda and DynamoDB.
- Hands‑on knowledge of Apache Spark, Delta Lake, parquet and ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Git/GitLab), Terraform, Jira and monitoring platforms.
- Understanding of relational and polyglot persistence technologies.
- Ability to work in an agile, collaborative environment.
