About the role
Engineering Manager (Frontend) at ClickUp leads and scales a remote engineering team building real‑time collaborative document editing and web experiences. The role combines hands‑on technical leadership with people management, driving high‑performance, scalable features for the AI‑native workspace.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands‑on technical guidance, ensuring best practices in architecture and design.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Drive development of new features, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to align goals and deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Oversee code reviews, enforce coding standards, and champion clean, maintainable code.
- Stay current with trends in collaborative editing, cloud infrastructure, and web development, applying innovations to the product.
- Maintain stability and performance of the Docs platform, addressing technical debt and optimizing architecture.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing and scaling engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Skills
- Proficiency in React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Experience with relational databases and modern frontend frameworks.
- Knowledge of AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
- Leadership and mentorship abilities.
