API Developer

About the role

CGI is hiring fresh graduates for an API Developer role in Hyderabad. The position focuses on building and maintaining Java‑based RESTful services using Spring Boot, Microservices and Hibernate, while collaborating with frontend teams and supporting CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs with Java, Spring Boot and a Microservices architecture.
• Implement Hibernate ORM for efficient database integration and query optimisation.
• Work closely with Angular or React frontend teams to ensure seamless API consumption.
• Perform unit testing, debug issues and tune performance of backend services.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning and timely delivery of features.
• Support CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing and deployments.

Eligibility

• B.E or B.Tech graduate (any engineering discipline).
• Fresh graduate with no prior professional experience required.
• Strong interest in Java backend development and API engineering.
• Willingness to learn enterprise technologies such as Spring Boot, Microservices and Hibernate.
