About the role
Barclays is looking for an Automation Test Engineer to join its Chennai office. The role focuses on designing, developing and executing automated test suites that verify functionality, performance and user experience of the bank’s software platforms. You will work closely with developers, analysts and product owners to understand requirements, create acceptance criteria and ensure high‑quality releases.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain comprehensive test plans that align with quality standards.
- Write, run and maintain automated scripts using Playwright, Selenium and related frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to review requirements, contribute to design discussions and define clear acceptance criteria.
- Perform root‑cause analysis on defects and partner with developers to drive timely resolution.
- Participate in code reviews, share knowledge and promote best practices in test automation.
- Stay updated on emerging testing tools, AI‑assisted automation (e.g., GitLab Duo, Copilot) and industry trends.
