Web Accessibility Engineer

About the role

Apple is looking for a Web Accessibility Engineer in Hyderabad to join its frontend team. The role blends web development with accessibility expertise, requiring you to evaluate web applications, identify barriers for assistive‑technology users, and deliver code fixes that meet WCAG 2.x and WAI‑ARIA standards.

Responsibilities

• Assess web applications for accessibility issues and document findings.
• Provide actionable recommendations and implement accessible code fixes using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Test interfaces with VoiceOver, JAWS and NVDA to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.x and WAI‑ARIA.
• Collaborate with product, design and engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Contribute to internal accessibility training materials, tooling and standards.
• Maintain clear technical documentation of issues and remediation steps.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech) or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–2 years of experience in web accessibility or frontend engineering.
• Strong foundation in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with WCAG 2.x guidelines and WAI‑ARIA specifications.
• Hands‑on experience testing with VoiceOver, JAWS or NVDA.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
